An F1 car should always be the ultimate Sports car, not a super-fast sedan with all types of driving helps. 4 Wheel drive, Traction Control, could it get anymore awful? When you buy a real Sports car it has to have the option of switching TC off and have rear Wheel drive, its the sportiest way of driving. Why should the supposed to be best drivers in the World need driving helps?

Max Mosley has lost his mind years ago, he just has no idea even what he himself wants for F1, he wants Launch Control, he wants Launch control to be gone, he wants Traction Control, than he wants Traction Control banned, then he wants Traction Control back, then he wants a push-button-to-overtake Mode, then he wants no driving helps, then he wants to resign, then he doesnt want to resign, and these are just a few examples of how Max Mosley is changing his opinion every few months, that Man has totally lost it.

I thought politicians in my country are stupid, but Max is in his own class.

Ladder System was popular in Nascar Racing 2003, it kept alot of People havin fun for years doing Races outside there league and progress on there Rating.
For those interested a description of the Ladder Server Systems in NASCAR Racing 2003, maybe some of this mode could be used in LFS?

The Rating System is designed to make it easy for players of any skill level to race against others of similiar ability. A driver is Rated on a 0 - 10 scale.

I like all kinds of Ovals, Shorttracks, Speedways, Super Speedways, I drive in several NASCAR Racing leagues, but we dont have any good Oval Track in LFS so I never drive on an Oval Track in LFS.

Alot of changes have been made to the UI some months ago and I'm happy we have passed that time and can look forward to more important Updates - The Incompatible Patches.

But a display of the Race Weekend were one has the Track in sight and the current Standings, with the Option to go to the Garage among other things or just view the Lap times board would be nice and is in my opinion the missing Place between driving and the Garage Options.

Quote from BWX232 :Well, you should still get a G25, even if that means no LED mod. The G25 is sweet sweet sweet.. and shines with LFS.

But theres no big reason to go from the MOMO Black to the G-25, he likes the LED Lights, the wheel looks better (personal opinion), it has more buttons, the Wheel is thicker, and if he wants a H-Shifter he can get one for $60 which is way better than the G25 one. He might want to save money and buy a Professionell Simulation Steering Wheel in a couple of years instead of buying yet another plastic wheel which will wear out with time.

The F1 and F08 obviously use Paddle Shifters, but there are still quite some F2000 cars (FOX) used that have H-type kind of shifting with clutching when shifting.

I would like that too, especially the way it looks in Grand Prix Legends and NASCAR Racing 2003 Season, it's practicable, the Garage, the Options, the Standing everythings on site and the Live Picture from the Track aswell

If I understand right, you just want a button that starts the Ignition of the car with a button command. I got a Button Box some time ago and would also like to switch the engine one when I start driving.

You could also try to run a Program that closes all Programs and Applications that run in the background of Windows which could interfer with the Sim. It's called EnditAll2 and you can run it everytime before you start driving, you can also decide which Programs should be closed or not.

Awesome to drive with so many people at the same time

I like the different relays and false starts, but I wish the Green Lights to be away, because on alot of tracks the start sign is simply the Red Lights going out, like that better. In F1 it is 5 pairs of red lights going on at the same time gaps but all go off after a different range of seconds.

Quote from DEVIL 007 :How come that Demo racers get free updates to physic, graphics and other improvements and still moaning.Show me any other games which offer that for demo the same way as LFS.

Totally agree with all points Hyperactive was making, Papyrus for example and other serious Simulations have always had that balancing, any driving Aid you use is easier BUT slower than driving without driving Aids.

It's just about fairness and common sense in a Simulation.

And may I quote from the LFS Website:

Quote :LFS S2 is a serious racing simulator. No arcade modes, no steering aids - YOU have to do the driving. It is therefore highly recommended to drive the sim with a steering wheel, because even though you can use keyboard and/or mouse, a wheel is what you use in a real car, so a wheel should be used in a serious racing simulator.

Given, that LFS is a serious Racing Simulator, it should not reward driving helps with faster lap times.

The argument about "not everyone has three pedals" is as valid as saying: Do not upgrade the Graphics because not everyone can afford a new Graphiccard, how much does a whole PC cost? How much does Internet and Software cost? You can buy a second set of Pedals for 10 Euros, and a good H-Shifter for 50 Euros, if you are serious about Sim Racing that shouldnt be a problem for anyone who can already afford a PC, Internet and Software.

And its not like the G25 is the only option if you want three pedals and a shifter. There are much cheaper Options and much better Options available. And the balancing should not be about seconds but about tenths of a second during a lap. I'm sure some Gamer is going to quote this now

Not really.

I like alot of Ovals but if we should get a new one it should be a decent one, that requires some braking at least. KY Oval is a pathetic Oval Track.

I drive with three 22inch and 85° is what I like most. But it depends from car to car, I set it up so that the rear mirrors are on the side screens.

ups it is a air restrictor? The first option in Handicaps. Did not want to take it to much off topic

Awesome Job, alot of improvements Everything working fine and stable here.

I'm happy to see the Weight Handicap making it in, alot of real Racing leagues use that. But the Aerodynamic Handicap is rather useless and unrealistic, making it more complicated than needed IMHO.

I think a Handicap that can be decided by the Server for certain type of cars or drivers is fine without Aero Handicaps.

Agree absolutely, Curbs are waaaay to forgiving, especially under braking.

Search for a Program called "EnditAll2"

Run it and it will close all Programs you dont need before you start LFS. That way no AnitVirus or any other type of Program should interfer and cause LFS to come back to Windows.

Try it

Quote from Shotglass :curbs in lfs arent serated ie theyre perfectly flat and thus give you about the same grip as a normal road surface

lateral tyre curves DONT drop off ... its a myth thats been around way way too long and its about time it got erradicated form the minds of sim player once and for all

the reason why df cars in lfs drift safely at speed (not while driving slowly) is probably mostly due to the aero physics being very incomplete and the cars not losing nearly enough df when theyre sideways

What? You sound like a Virgin talking about Sex. So have you ever braked hard in a Formula car? Or are you just talking out of your imaginations? The car gets unstable under heavy braking even IF YOU JUST HAVE TWO WHEELS ON A SMALL WHITE LINE you very likely off the track immediately, the way we can brake without problems in LFS while having two wheels on the curbs is ridiculous.
